Warm and Experienced Special Needs Childcare Provider for Weekday Evenings
Location: Upper West Side, Manhattan
Hours: Monday–Friday, 5:00–9:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Children: Two boys, ages 8 and 11
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate caregiver to support our family during weekday evenings. We are particularly looking for someone with experience supporting children with ADHD and emotional regulation challenges. A background in special education or child development is a strong plus. The ideal candidate is able to balance warmth with clear, consistent boundaries.
Our 11-year-old enjoys chess and basketball and thrives with structure and encouragement. He has ADHD and benefits from guidance to stay on track with daily routines. Our 8-year-old is energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about math and football. Mom works from home, and Dad returns home by 8:00 PM.
Evening responsibilities include:
Supporting our 11-year-old in staying organized and completing evening routines (homework, dinner, bath, etc.). This includes helping to motivate him when he is feeling frustrated with and resisting daily tasks.

Providing a calm, steady presence alongside Mom and assisting with the evening flow as needed

Qualifications:
Prior experience working with children with ADHD and emotional regulation challenges is required

Experience with emotionally sensitive or intellectually gifted children is preferred

Master’s degree in special education, child psychology, or a related field is ideal but not required

Must be dependable, kind, and committed to a strengths-based approach
