You have a great nanny—they understand your family and your kids love spending time with them. Could they become even better? In short, yes—through professional development training.

What is interNational Nanny Training Day?

iNNTD is a collective of individual local training events that promote the importance of nanny training and raising the quality of nanny care. In 2025, the event day is Saturday, April 12. It’s a way for local communities of nannies to share professional development information and network with one another.

Better Care For Your Child

By attending a professional development event, they’ll come back with new skills and knowledge to use when supporting your family. Some of the topics being presented around the world this year include: newborn care, art theory, car seat safety, CPR certifications, lesson planning, child psychology, and more.

Prevent Burnout For Your Nanny

Nannying can be an isolating career and being able to connect with other local caregivers gives your nanny an opportunity to develop helpful community connections. The benefits can range from finding new playgrounds to self-care and life skills sessions that can help your nanny with stress and sustainability.

How Can I Support My Nanny?

1. Talk To Them About iNNTD

Check out the locations below and share with your nanny in case they’re not familiar with this event.

2. Give Them Time Off

These trainings typically take place on Saturdays, so find a backup option if they work on that day.

3. Provide Financial Support

Most events have some amazing sponsors and donors that help keep the ticket cost down, but paying for the ticket shows your nanny that you truly value their investment in betterment for your family.

4. Add Professional Development To Their Contract

If you don’t have one already, you can add this as a benefit in your contract at the next review. This can look like a certain amount of dollars or paid days off per year to be used on training opportunities, books, or other educational resources.
