Home Help Aide - Recent Heart Transplant Client

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Home Help Aide to provide supportive care for a 65-year-old woman who has recently undergone a heart transplant. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities in her son’s home and later in her own apartment, ensuring her comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform light home duties to maintain a clean and organized living environment.
- Manage laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and sorting clothes.
- Accompany the client on errands, including grocery shopping and other essential outings.
- Drive the client to follow-up doctor appointments at UPENN Hospital - Heart Transplant Center in Philadelphia (car provided).
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and preferences.
- Assist with medication management, ensuring medications are taken as prescribed each morning.
- Support the client in daily tracking of vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and glucose levels.
- Provide social interaction and companionship, engaging in meaningful conversations and activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience working with elderly individuals, especially those with medical conditions and memory loss.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage daily tasks and schedules.
- A kind spirit with the ability to provide emotional support and encouragement.
- Experience working with diverse clients, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the client and her family.
