South Arroyo family seeking occasional caregiver for their 67 year old mother to start ASAP. Backup care is needed 1-4 times per month on weekdays between 7am-5pm, typically for 4 hrs at a time. Client resides at an assisted living facility in Pasadena & family is looking for someone to engage w/ her in various activities. Client is diabetic, has history of stroke w/ left arm weakness, & is forgetful at times. Uses a 4lb. cane when walking & wheelchair for longer distances. Wears adult diapers-may require under-the-arm assistance when standing up (client weighs ~130lbs). History of seizures-caregiver will need to assist w/ checking sugar. Wears a continuous glucose monitor. Client can administer insulin independently, but will be helpful if provider can indicate right dosage. Family can provide at least a week’s notice before backup care is needed. Those applying do not need to be available for all requests, but should understand there are no guaranteed weekly hours for this position.
