South Arroyo family seeks occasional caregiver for their 67-year-old mother ASAP. Backup care needed 1-4x per month Monday-Saturday between 7am-5pm, at least 4 hours at a time. Client resides at an assisted living facility in Pasadena & family is looking for someone to engage w/ her in various activities. Client is diabetic, has a history of a stroke with left arm weakness, & forgetful at times. Uses a 4lb. cane when walking, & wheelchair for longer distances. Wears adult diapers & may require under-the-arm assistance when standing up (weighs ~130lbs). History of seizures & caregiver will need to assist with checking her sugar (wears a continuous glucose monitor). Client can administer insulin independently, provider will need to indicate right dosage. Family can provide at least a week’s notice before backup care is needed. Those applying do not need to be available for all of the family's requests, but should understand that there are no guaranteed weekly hours for this position.
