Care Expectations:
Engaging in Play:
Use simple toys, sensory items, blocks, or musical toys.
Repetition and familiar activities are comforting.
Follow the child’s lead during play and gently encourage interaction.
Safety First:
Keep the environment calm, clean, and free from hazards.
Monitor closely during physical play or transitions between activities.
Avoid overwhelming stimuli (loud noises, flashing lights, etc.).
Routine & Comfort:
Stick to familiar routines (meal/snack/nap times if applicable).
Offer choices to promote independence without pressure.
Have a few calming strategies ready (soft music, favorite toy, quiet time).
Communication Style:
Use clear, simple language and visual cues if needed.
Be patient—allow extra time for responses or transitions.
Positive reinforcement works well for good behavior and engagement.
Goal:
To provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports the child’s individual pace and encourages joyful, sensory-friendly play.
