We have a 14 year old special needs daughter as well as a "typical" 10 year old daughter and 12 year old son. We need assistance with getting our special needs daughter off the bus around 405-415 daily and would stay with her while I take the other two kids to practices and activities.
Our daughter is non verbal and has a gene mutation that interferes with neuron signaling. She is similar to but not exactly like a child with Autism or Down's syndrome. She needs assistance using the bathroom, this includes changing pull ups. Mostly the job is getting her off the bus, changing her pull up, getting her a snack and entertaining her. She is pretty easy to keep happy as long as there is music on!
The job may also include additional night/weekend hours, but we would definitely plan those in advance!
