Gain Great Experience - NEED 2 people to fill the various roles (eve or weekend) key is positive redirection, re-enforcement, thinking on your feed, having fun and engaged in activities! Autism Experience is NOT required! Times open - eve are like 5 or 6pm to 9:30/10 - and we are flexible times etc. For days its 7-4, weekends I try 2 shifts 8-4 and 4-10 what ever works and rotate as needed.

What: Being a buddy to a 27-year-old autistic male (autism, cognitive delays, apraxia, OCD, ADD), who has communication difficulties due to his autism and apraxia. Cares for him are really based on positive reinforcement, communication. Helping with sensory needs (going places to jump, run, get tickled, water activities, etc), teaching what is around him. We do train, 2 staff with him too as he is active, and we work on communication/teaching around him day to day!

Who: Biggest part of this is the experience of being around 2-4-year-olds in communication, actions, etc. As that is his cognitive ability for communication, etc. That is the key experience along with: Thinking on your feet, patience, drive to help, planner and problem solver! Autism experience is not required. It's the 2-4 experience is the key!!
We do train!

Shifts: Various shifts open, and can be very flexible with your school schedule.

2 staff are with him always and as a person trains they are 3rd person. Its really what you can do!! We work with you and your schedule to ensure a good work life balance!
