Wednesday care for 4 year old with developmental delays

Posted by Michael D. on 12/24/2024

  • $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

We are looking for care on Wednesdays for our son who is 4.5 years old. He attends integrated public preschool on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday.

He had a traumatic brain injury as a newborn, so although he has made tremendous progress, he is significantly developmentally delayed (2-3 year old development age). He also has cortical visual impairment, so he has difficulty with visual processing and complexity.

He is very friendly and energetic but has challenges with attention span. We are looking for someone who is creative and likes to try out new approaches to engage him with different toys and activities to grow his fine motor skills, cognitive abilities, language, and emotional regulation.

He is potty trained and can eat by himself (but mostly with his hands), and he no longer naps. The caregiver may take him to his OT appointment on Wednesday mornings (with our car) and can also walk/drive him to playgrounds or the library.
