Seeking a Compassionate Caregiver for Our Fun-Loving Daughter
Posted by Jennifer C. on 3/6/2025

- $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

We are looking for a caring and reliable respite caregiver for our 21-year-old daughter, who has Cri du Chat syndrome. She is a joyful, social young woman who loves spending time with others, watching tv & videos, and sharing laughter. Her sense of humor is contagious, and she thrives on positive interactions. This role requires someone with experience in special needs care or a willingness to learn about this unique condition.
She needs support with daily living activities and communication, so we are looking for someone patient, attentive, and experienced with individuals with disabilities. The ideal caregiver will not only assist with her needs but also engage her in activities that bring her joy.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and ensure the safety of our daughter at all times.
Assist with daily activities, including light meal preparation.
Engage in calming activities and provide emotional support as needed.
Follow a structured routine and help with communication using established methods (e.g., gestures, pictures, or simple words).
Requirements:
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly preferred, however a willingness to learn about Cri du Chat syndrome and our daughter's specific needs is welcomed as well.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to follow care instructions and communicate effectively with the family.
Reliable transportation to our home.
If you have a heart for helping others and want to make a meaningful impact in a fun and rewarding environment, we’d love to hear from you!
