We are looking for in-home care after school a few days a week for our two children, ideally with more availability during summer.
Our son is in middle school, has Down syndrome, autism, and is minimally verbal. He requires a lot of assistance, including toilet/diapering, snack prep, and direct attention to keep him engaged. He likes music/videos, being read to, and being outside when the weather is nice.
Our daughter is in elementary school and is mostly independent with homework/snack/getting ready for evening activities, etc, she just needs reminders. She enjoys engaging with sitters in all types of games and activities. Our kids get along great, although they don't have many common interests, and our daughter is our son's biggest advocate.
CPR/first aid and ability to provide limited transportation are a plus but not required. Previous experience with our son's needs is not required, but you must be willing to meet his needs.
