support person for 10yo boy with Down syndrome

Hi! We're hiring a support person to help our 10yo with Down syndrome rock his life in and out of the home. He's sporty and affectionate, loves music, dance, and dinosaurs. He has language and motor delays and needs supervision for safety. We’ll provide lots of support; both parents work from home so are often around. We need help supporting his personal care and household skills (dressing, tooth brushing, basic cooking and cleaning), keeping him safe and engaged at home and in the community, and supporting academics. Our 7yo is often around too; he's more independent and just needs regular childcare support. We prefer someone experienced with neurodivergent kids, who's patient, firm but kind, silly but serious when needed, and willing to work closely with parents.

Hours are evenings and weekends, 2-4 hrs/wk on average, potentially long term. We're also looking for 2-5 hrs/wk of non-kid household help: dishes, cleaning, laundry, cooking, occasional errands.

You'll be hired through an agency so must be 18+ and pass a background check. We'll pay for your time and expenses related to hiring. Given the unique vulnerabilities of kids with disabilities, we require references.
