Hello! First of all, I hope you’re well! My name is Rachel, and I’m expecting my first baby next month. As the oldest of ten, I’ve always been a natural caregiver, and have nannied through sites like SitterCity for about 10 years, and did work as a full time nanny through an agency for 2 years. I have done first aid and CPR training in the past, taught at various summer camps, and volunteered with different after school programs here in the city. With my own child on the way, I’ve had a reinvigorated passion to work in the childcare space, and support other families. I graduated with a degree in Social/Cultural Analysis from NYU and have since worked freelance jobs from social media, admin, etc.

As a first-time mom, I had some anxiety about getting a babysitter for the first time for my 1.5 year old while traveling to NY for a 6 day trip. Rae really erased my worries, and ended up babysitting for us several times. She was perfect! We had her help out with staying in our hotel room while our daughter napped/slept so we could go out and watch a show or catch a late dinner. Rae also babysat directly, getting our toddler up from her nap while my husband and I were out, (handling diaper change, snacks/milk, and entertainment, etc) and I asked her to come out with me to walk around the city as an extra pair of hands to help out with the stroller, shopping, errands, lunch, and of course watching and playing w my daughter. She was great with everything, always punctual, very responsible, easy to work with for scheduling, has a great attitude and demeanor interacting with us and the little one, and our girl just loved her!

We hired Rae to watch our son while we were in New York for a fun trip, and I can't say enough about how great she is. She is a sweetheart and wonderful with kids. She showed up exactly on time and kept me posted (just the right amount) via text as she watched my son. Rae has a warm and kind personality. My son thought she was the best. I would 100% recommend her and I'd hire her again in a heartbeat.
