My name is Racara, but I prefer to be called Cara. I have about 18 years of babysitting experience. I'm an energetic, motivated, and educated professional seeking occasional babysitting opportunities for date nights, weekends, fill-ins, and last-minute weekends. Currently, I work as a full-time nanny for a wonderful local family. Previously, I worked in the corporate world as a government contractor and in ED Tech, but needed a new flexible schedule outside of the standard 9 to 5 schedule to regain my focus on my overall health. Being an independent contractor has afforded me the space to not only contribute within diverse communities, which aligns with my masters degree in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management with a focus on Social Identity. Educating and leading the youth has always been a passion of mine. I babysat growing up within my neighborhood, and sporadically continued it throughout the years. When I was Read more in undergrad, I volunteered at a church and worked weekends at a daycare (infants - toddlers age group) while attending college full-time as a Public Health student. I tutored children ages 8 years old - 19 years old through various refugee programs. Including volunteering as an AmeriCorps where I had the opportunity to mentor and advise middle school and high school students with ACT prep and the college application process. I babysat throughout middle and high school while balancing extracurricular activities like track & field, cheerleading, and tennis and serving in student positions like the Vice President of the Multicultural Club and Executive Board member. One of my favorite memories while babysitting with children is experiencing the magic of watching a baby crawl and start walking for the first time. They grow up so fast! Also, I don't mind battling it off while playing a board game. Many people ask, Why babysitting? 1. I am a natural caregiver 2. My entire career journey is based on support services 3. Schedule flexibility Words to describe me: Patient, organized, & dependable Payment Method - Payment Method: Zelle or Cash Rates: $25 - $30 hr, there is no additional charge per child. Sittercity would not allow me to put $0. I’m fully vaccinated & boosted, CPR/AED/First Aid certified (expires April 2024), and have stellar references. I look forward to meeting you and learning about your family's expectations! ^_^

Cara was great! She came by early to get the lay of the land and was sweet with our son. She got him to bed no trouble and was very personable.

Racara is the best sitter we’ve had in awhile. She is super considerate/conscientious and asks so many questions. She’s super chill and likes to play games with the kids. She challenged our 8 year old to a game of Monopoly and claimed she was the best and won 90% of the time. He had none of that and totally showed her up. She was cool with it. Our kids liked her. That’s all that matters.
