Hi ~ My name is Karen Nilsson. I live in Escondido, CA… I have two grown children of my own. I have a 19 year old son and a 21 year old who is a senior at Santa Clara University. I have a degree in Child Development which I have taught and directed preschool’s for over 25 years. In 2020 when the pandemic hit I was asked to nanny a child who was in my classroom and his sister not knowing how long the pandemic was going to last… I ended up being with them for a little over 2 years. Since then I’ve nannied for few other families including the latest being multiples. Now that my time with them has come to a close I would love to find another family to work for instead of returning to the classroom. I love to read, sing, dance, do art activities Read more (the messier the better!), exploring nature, going to the park, hiking, cooking and simply enjoying the company of a young child. I have experience with children with special needs, multiples, newborns, preschoolers, elementary age children as well as jr high into high schoolers. I take my role as a caregiver seriously. I’m not one to be on my phone or not paying attention to kids needs. But love to engage children in social interactions with peers and ignite the love of learning. Learning how to take chances (and possibly fail) but learning how to correct and learn from one’s mistakes. If you would like more information about me please do not hesitate to call or write! I look forward to hearing from you soon! ~Karen
