Hello! My name is Stephanie. I am a 30 year old experienced teacher and babysitter! Through being a substitute teacher at Greenwich’s many diverse schools and classrooms, I have learned to be an incredibly flexible and competent educator. I have experience working with children in multiple facets, including as a party host in the summer of 2014 at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and as a traditional educator as a teacher in a Pre-K classroom at Alphabet Academy, and teaching assistant at the Creative Arts Workshop. As a party host, I would often lead large groups of children through the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, doing interactive and educational activities through the various exhibits. As both a teacher and nanny, I am most likely to be seen either creating large glittered sculptures with children, conducting experiments, or at a nearby art gallery or natural history museum learning how to create something wonderful. In Read more my recent position at Alphabet Academy, which I regretfully had to leave due to relocation, I was trained in the Reggio Emilia approach, which is an interactive, collaborative, and empowering play centric method of teaching. I have been a babysitter for multiple families long term, and have learned how to think on my feet when needed in terms of programming and ensuring that children are entertained, heard, and validated. Through all of my work as an educator and babysitter, I have aimed to create a platform for children to feel validated and excited about their interests and creations! I have worked with ages 2-17, and have been watching children now for ten years. Beyond my experience with children, I am a 24 year old writer and musician. I bring the arts with me into every job with children, as well as my guitar! I am not afraid to be my goofiest self and to really humor the children during playtime. I love games, crafts, and stories. I hope to get to know your family!
