I am a student at Appalachian State University studying recreation management. I hope to work with children in outdoor education in my career! My experience working with kids has been volunteering for a year in a third grade classroom in my hometown of Hendersonville, NC where I would help with the activities for that day. I volunteered at local elementary schools all throughout high school. I also worked for about 3 years at gem mine where I lead camp and school groups, often as the sole or lead instructor. During these sessions, I would interact with the kids individually as well as during regular shifts. I love being around kids because I enjoy helping them learn about the world around them and I think they teach me some too!! I’m creative and imaginative and love collaborating with kids in that way. I am currently working a part-time job, but would Read more love to help out families in the area as much as possible. I would love to build a connection with families and would be available to babysit into the school year as well!
