Hi Families, I’m Alison! I’m 35 years old, and I’ve been babysitting and nannying since I was 12 years old. I also worked as a nanny throughout college and grad school, which helped me build a deep understanding of child development and care. I hold a Master’s in Art Education, which I’ve used in my work teaching in schools focused on special needs, as well as in supporting adults with special needs in educational settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the opportunity to have my own little miracle boy, who is diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome and Truncus Arteriosus, a congenital heart defect (CHD). He’s now 3 years old, and I stay home with him full-time, homeschooling him using a variety of educational methods. We embrace Montessori, Waldorf, and child-led learning, allowing his interests to guide his education. We focus on hands-on, screen-free activities, spending time outside, at the library, Read more zoo, music classes, and engaging in various educational activities at home. I’m looking to connect with a family whose values align with ours, ideally for a long-term arrangement. While I care for my son, I’m also interested in helping with other children. His needs are mild, though he will require heart surgeries in the future, so I have experience with sensitive medical situations. He is incredibly sweet and kind, and I’d love to share my experience and care with your family!
