Howdy! :) My name is Kyleigh, and I'm from a small, rural town in Texas, but I'm currently attending Duke University's School of Medicine to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I have always loved childcare, because it is not only an incredible opportunity to be every child's best advocate, but it allows those of us that have experienced life to step back, observe, and enjoy the carefree, fun outlook of a child! It's so hard to put a love for childcare into words, so I decided to list some of my favorite experiences over the years last 6 to 8 years! 1. With my mother working as a kindergarten teacher, I have spent many rewarding hours volunteering time to help children to overcome learning disabilities, sensory deficits, and adverse home circumstances. 2. I worked as a Swim Instructor for 4 years, teaching ages 6 months, primarily 3 to 5 Read more years, and all the way to 65 years of age about both water safety and swimming techniques! 3. I volunteered in a special school for disabled children, where we were able to instill a great deal of positive association with disabilities and accommodations! 4. I worked as a weekend nanny for two years to a family with an adorable little girl and boy! 5. As an SPT, or a student physical therapist, I work with children daily, learning, observing, and applying all the cool developmental milestones and fun tid bits about each stage of their lives! I'm currently certified in adult, child, and infant CPR and First Aid, but I have previously held certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.
