My name is Amaiyah ("uh-myah") and one thing that I will absolutely never grow out of is the belief that life gets to be fun! I do my best to make all of my responsibilities as enjoyable as possible and I believe that joy rubs off on everyone I encounter. My working history starts in an environment where children are the forefront, an amusement park back in my home city Brooklyn, New York. From there I’ve spent the last 6 years babysitting for families in my neighborhood, to working in daycares and summer camps, all of which I enjoyed so much because it allowed me to do what I’m naturally great it, being nurturing and expressing my creativity. All of that has lead me to my current role as a Lead Instructor at a homesteading school for children in the Chicagoland area. Nannying/babysitting more full-time just feels like a natural Read more progression. Working with so many children on a daily basis whether it’s classes, parties, or the weekly after school programs that I lead is so much fun but I would like to explore focusing my skills on a more intimate level and really getting to know and allow a family or a few to trust and be able to call on me as a childcare professional.
