Hi everyone, my name is Alexa, and I am currently on the lookout to help out a wonderful family in need of some childcare. I am a college freshman, majoring in elementary education as I have a strong passion for working with kids. I am 18 years old, and I have a valid driver's license and car. I am open to attending to household tasks while caring for your little ones and the majority of my experience in childcare has been with preschoolers and toddlers, but I would love to work with more ages! I am CPR and AED certified, and I also have my DCF training certification. The DCF training involves taking multiple exams revolved around the best childcare practices, which has a strong focus on children enrolled in a daycare or preschool. Throughout the school year, I work at a private school in their aftercare and enrichment programs, Read more where I mainly attend to the preschoolers and kindergartners, but I am responsible for all students from pre-k3 through the 8th grade. I have also worked with the private school in their summer programs where I have been a lead teacher in both the pre-k and kindergarten classrooms and assisted in the first-grade classroom. In high school, I was also a part of my high school's teaching academy for three years. Here, I was responsible for creating engaging lesson plans each week and then teaching it to our preschool students. For the fall semester I have classes on Mondays from 10:00 A.M.-1:30P.M. and a class on Wednesdays from about 10:00 A.M.-12:00P.M. Due to my work at the private school, I am also unavailable from 2:00-5:30 P.M. on weekdays. I do try to keep my availability on here up to date as well in case of any special changes.
