I enjoy being around children, and always have. In middle and high school I was an kindergarten student tutor, working on class preparation for daily activities and helping children complete the activities or computer tasks. Also throughout high school and after, I was a dedicated babysitter for a work-from-home family with two Native American children aged 2 and 5'. During college, I was one of 6 university sponsored tutors that helped students in learn course material, mainly in chemistry and math. I find the enthusiasm and understanding of children to be both engaging and rewarding, which has given me a strong sense of compassion for their success in life and in developing a responsible skill set that will allow them to mature at a family rate in essential skills, such as keeping tidy, creative exploration, and emotional growth. As I was mentioning earlier, I am a non-traditional college graduate with Read more over 200 STEM credits from an accredited state university, earning degrees in Applied Science and Engineering, concentrating in chemistry, physics, materials science, and engineering. Some of these credits fostered exploration in utilizing Common Core Standards for elementary teaching. I also have several years experience as working in meal-prep and professional cooking.
