Hi! I’m Zella, and I’m a rising junior at Georgetown University. I’m originally from Washington state, where I used to babysit for 4 families during high school (ages 1-11). I also served as a volunteer ESL teacher during my gap year, where I taught ages 4-17. Now in DC, I coach chess at Horace Mann Elementary (as a contractor for The Knight School). I’ve been teaching there since Fall of 2022, and I’m actually contracted to teach other after-school classes next Spring with Active Play. To teach at DC public schools there’s a very thorough background check required, so I’ve recently completed that (on top of the one required for care.com). I’m happy to forward that your way if it would make you more comfortable. I love working with kids.
