My name is Mary Maddux and I recently moved to the city from North Carolina where I studied Fashion at NC State University. Although I do have great taste, the one thing that I have been consistently passionate about my whole life, is children. In high school, I worked as a summer camp counselor at an overnight camp in the North Carolina mountains. Spending a month there, I observed the children’s growth and change, which was deeply rewarding. This experience provided me with valuable skills in leadership, patience, and the joy of nurturing young minds. During college, I cared for a baby daily from 3 to 9 months old. Growing alongside him and witnessing his developmental milestones enhanced my understanding of infant care and the importance of forming supportive bonds. I began helping them with errands, planning birthday parties, and kept their dog overnight when they were away. I eventually became the right hand man to this household, and it was one of the most fulfilling parts of my college career.
