Hi there, I'm Cari and helping children grow is my passion! For the past year I have worked at an insurance company to allow me a flexible schedule to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Before this I nannied for a family and worked as an assistant teacher at Sparrow Childtime in Lansing. Some of my responsibilities include leading both small and large group experiences, planning and teaching fun and developmentally appropriate lessons, and of course caring for children. I have learned so much from working so closely with children and their parents everyday, especially when it comes to the child's personal development. I have been babysitting for over nine years and I have had six families that I babysat regularly. When I babysit, I like to bring a craft or activity that suits the child's personality, interests and is developmentally appropriate. I also clean up any mess we make Read more and tidy up around the house if asked. I also cook, can drive children to and from different events, will run errands and can stay overnight or weekends if needed. In addition I have also volunteered at a nursery for teen mothers, worked at Lansing Parks and Rec during the summer, and have worked with the Girl Scouts by starting troops in schools around the Lansing School District. Girl scouting has a special place in my heart as I was a member from kindergarten until I graduated high school. Throughout my time as a scout I volunteered at shelters around Lansing, earned both my Bronze and Silver awards, and helped lead Brownie meetings. I take the responsibility of caring for children very seriously and I make sure that the child and parents are happy, safe and satisfied.
