When I was 8 years old, I finally got a little brother through adoption - I loved playing little mommy with him, making food creations, running around and swinging outside, building things, and reading books together. Ever since, I have enjoyed working in preschools, elementary schools, middle and high schools, as well as babysitting/nanny-ing, and working as a mid-level supervisor as a behavior therapist for autistic kids. Playing with, teaching, and watching kiddos have fun and learn is one of the most joyful parts of my life - because they are so teachable, curious, resilient and capable! For my undergrad (special education), I student taught at a middle school, and my practicums also included K-8. My practicum for my master’s degree was as the assistant school district behavior specialist, running around each school in the district for kids as young as 3, all the way to 21. Just a note, Read more I’m currently taking a break from formal work to travel the country by train and spread awareness about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a devastating under-recognized mental health disorder I struggled with for years. Now I’m determined to raise awareness and human connection about the disorder, lessen the negative impacts it causes, and educate those who are unfamiliar. I will be in southeastern Wisconsin until at least April 15, 2025 and hope to meet some wonderful families while here!
