I truly love caring for children. It's one job that is just so fun and lovely and makes me feel like I am making a difference, getting to know my neighbors, and engaging in my community. I have a lot of childcare experience! This past summer I worked full time as an assistant camp counselor at my local nature center, and I had a blast! We typically had 6 to 9 children per counselor, and I took care of children from ages 3 to 11, as well as a very old rabbit. I worked best with younger children, from 3 to 6 years old, but I would be very happy to care for toddlers and babies younger than 3 as well! We went outside daily and did many activities such as pond scraping, hiking, fort building, arts and crafts, book reading, nature class, marshmallow roasting and water play. In 2019 Read more I completed a CIT (counselor-in-training) program at Camp Bernie YMCA sleepaway camp where I was certified in child/infant and adult CPR and first aid by the Red Cross. I am also skilled in cooking and cleaning, have my own five-seater car, and I love small pets! Though I have no official tutoring experience, I am a junior at the University of Connecticut, majoring in political science and minoring in history. I transferred here from New York University. My grade point average is 3.9. I would be happy to tutor as well, for all different subjects! I have taken a range of classes in different areas and would be very comfortable tutoring elementary and middle school children. Thank you for reading!
