Hello! My name is Midori and I’m a passionate and nurturing caregiver with 10 years of experience working with children of all ages. I believe in creating a safe, engaging, and fun environment where children can thrive and explore their interests. I have a background in child psychology from UNC, and have worked in the clinical field with children for the past 3 years. I specialized in applied behavior analysis therapy which involved working with kids on the autism spectrum through in-home and in-clinic services. I also own my own swim lesson company where I spend each summer working with kids in the water, helping them grow swimming skills and confidence. My experience with kids equips me to support children’s development through play, creativity, and learning. I enjoy planning age-appropriate activities, from arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, and I prioritize building strong, trusting relationships with both children and families. Read more Additionally, I have worked extensively with kids on an academic level, both in English and Spanish. I spent a year as a Spanish Teaching Assistant in a 2nd grade classroom at Carrboro Elementary where I assisted in small group and individual lessons. I also spent multiple years during undergrad working with bilingual tutoring organizations like El Centro Hispano, and Semillas de Unidad. If you are a parent looking for homework help or an introduction to Spanish for your child, I'm a great candidate! As a caregiver/nanny, I value open communication and collaboration with parents to ensure everyone’s needs are met. Whether it’s helping with homework, organizing playdates, or simply being a listening ear, I strive to be a positive influence in every child’s life. In my free time, I love spending time with friends, family, and my beloved dog Winnie. I’m looking forward to finding a wonderful family to work with and contribute to their child's growth and happiness! Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat more about how I can support your family!
