- Has a car
At my last job, from 2014-2023, I worked full-time flexible guaranteed hours, and did kids laundry, school drop off and pickup, light organizing and cleaning, fridge/pantry inventory and grocery shopping, daily walks and trips to the playground, and packed school lunches for the next day. Hello! I just spent the summer reading stories and singing the abcs to a 14 month old, a quiet change from the family with 5 children (4 boys, 1 girl, 2 bernese mountain dogs) I babysat for over 10 years. Because of their age range and how long I've known them, I have as much experience in singing songs, getting on the floor to play with dolls, and sculpting anything with play-doh, as I do breaking up fights, throwing a football, and helping with algebra. Some related skills include: crafts knitting/sewing origami the ability to make up games on the fly, and making things that aren't Read more supposed to be fun into a game

Meredith I. worked for us for almost 9 years, taking care of our daughter, Lydia, from 8 weeks old, and our son Emmett, from the age of 5. While she was an incredible care giver, she really became part of our family. Her responsibilities were initially focused on caring for the baby, and her expertise and patience in that arena were immediately evident. She bottle fed Lydia with pumped breast milk and eventually fed her solids as well. She was inventive and gentle with play, taking her to the park, talking, and reading to her. She also picked up our son from school, played Legos, board games and read stories. She was comfortable overseeing park outings and other activities with both children. And as Lydia grew, took her to the library, Music Together, and organized age appropriate arts and crafts activities. She’s an excellent communicator and was very good about keeping us informed as to how Emmett and Lydia were doing, and checking in and collaborating whenever an issue arose. She also helped around the house with basic chores such as laundry and dishes, and teaching and helping the kids to clean up toys. When Lydia was young she handled ordering diapers and supplies. As Lydia got older she was a great homework helper. Most importantly everyone LOVED Meredith. She was just great to have around. She’s an all around creative person with a wonderful sense of humor who was always up for playing a board game, hide and seek, or even inventing a game, making a craft, or a popsicle or a painting, or just snuggling on the couch with a good book. Perhaps the best recommendations I can give are Emmett’s and Lydia’s. When I told them that Meredith was looking for a new job and asked was there anything they wanted me to say about her, Lydia said: “She’s so fun because she always wants to talk and play with me and when I trip on something or a bug falls on me she puts it in time out. She’s so funny!” Emmett simply asked: “Why can’t she work for us?” :) I would be more than happy to discuss anything not covered here or answer any questions. I truly cannot recommend Meredith highly enough! You’d be lucky to have her!
