I am a compassionate, patient, and engaging childcare provider who takes joy in caring for, entertaining, and educating children of all ages and abilities. With over 20 years of commitment to childcare, supporting children through their developmental journey is my life's passion. My journey in childcare began as a dual-degree certified educator in Georgia, specializing in special needs (across all exceptionalities) and art. Throughout the years, starting from my college days, I eagerly took any chance to relieve friends and family by caring for their newborns. The majority of my experience lies in working with toddlers to preschool-aged children and preteens, but my care has also extended to infants and children with a variety of special needs. I have taught children with special needs for over 20 years within the public school system, covering ages from preschool to high school, with a predominant focus on elementary and middle school grades. Read more In addition, I have served as a care provider for infants and toddlers during my off-time over the past two decades. I also provided private tutoring after school and during the summer for former students whose parents requested that I continue to work with their sweet kiddos. I have been certified three times in CPR and the administration of emergency care for choking, minor injuries, and specific conditions like seizure management. Additionally, my expertise in social, emotional, and behavioral training includes certification in aiding with de-escalation and emotional self-regulation for children from preschool age onwards. In all forms of childcare, building rapport with both the children and their parents is paramount. Consistent and thorough communication between the caregiver and the family is crucial. Beyond these essentials, the key role of a nanny is to offer genuine, positive, and focused attention to the child's needs at all times, fostering not just a feeling of safety and security but also promoting enrichment, growth, and fun! My most cherished memories are undoubtedly those when I provided care beyond the public school environment, where I could give my complete and undivided attention to children and very small groups of children, including infants and toddlers. With my extensive experience in teaching, I also greatly value the opportunity to provide personalized learning and social/emotional support to children as they grow older and navigate the challenges of life.
