I believe children should be seen and heard, but I also believe they should respect their elders. I believe in second chances and first time obedience. I'm loving, and not mean, but firm when I need to be firm. I read books, play games, like to make children laugh, and enjoy serving healthy snacks. I'd rather slice up some fruit than hand a child a piece of candy. I serve water, rather than juice, and never soda. Treats are special and should be given occasionally. I have over 45 years of experience with children, starting when I was 7 years old helping to raise my 4 younger siblings. I've raised my own 4 children including my oldest who was born with a life threatening disease. He's 30 now, doing well, and living in assisted living. I've spent my life in children's activities from teaching Sunday School to hosting birthday parties Read more when I was employed by McDonald's, church nursery coordinator to Awana secretary, children's play writer to home schooling mom. I also have a 19 month old grandchild who lives in my home. I don't have cpr training, but I plan to take nursing courses within the next year, and I saved one son's life 3 times. And 2 of those times involved standing up to a doctor. I helped save my other son's life once. I've also had 2 doctors tell me mom knows best; one said it while shaking my hand. It doesn't mean I'm perfect or always get it right, but I do remain calm in a crisis. I've seen more than my share of crises.
