Hello, my name is Brittany. The struggle of finding the balance between parenting and working is no easy feat! I am a reliable and sweet nanny located in Palatine, Illinois. Children have always been a large part of my work history and they are what have made my previous jobs so much more rewarding for me. I graduated with honors from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in Psychology and a concentration in Abnormal and Child Development. Children are our future leaders, doctors, teachers, lawyers, and parents. Their little spirits are so important to the world! Some of my experience includes working in the children's literature section of a library. We ran programs such as the Reading Patch club. Reading is such an integral part of brain development and vital for integrating rich imagination! Other experience comes from the 15 years I worked in the service industry. 13 of those Read more years were working at Red Robin, which seems to be every kids favorite restaurant and I don't blame them! I would dress up as our restaurant Mascot, a giant bird suit, and go around giving "autographs" to every table that had a child. I've dealt with every picky eater you can imagine. Sick kids. And every allergy. As the shift leader and head learning coach of my front of house serving and host staff, it was my sole responsibility to make sure everyone was fully trained in the appropriate safety measures when placing orders for clientele with food sensitivities and severe allergies such as peanut and shellfish. I've calmed children down from tantrums to ending the meal laughing with gracious parents thanking me for my patience to then becoming my regulars where I was able to watch some of these kids grow into adulthood! The pandemic hit the service industry the hardest and during our country's down time I babysat for various families with duties ranging from meal prep including gluten free cooking, to outdoor adventures. Other important activities included homework (I have previously tutored and enjoy teaching), disney movie sing-a-longs, bedtime stories, and so many Lego builds. I am excited to help ease your stress in any way I can while creating a fun and safe environment for your little ones! I offer full-time and part-time live-out nanny services. I am very open to any specific needs your child has as well as to the days and hours you need to make your life easier! Feel free to message me by phone or email any time of the day. I look forward to hearing from you!
