Hi! My name is Grace and I am a gentle, patient, and warm childcare professional with over ten years of experience. In addition to my experience with children, I have a background in disability care and education. I worked as a Life Skills Teacher prior to pivoting to early childhood education. Because of my time as a Life Skills Teacher/Direct Support Professional, I am experienced with medication administration & management, various communication devices, and assistive technology. I chose to pivot to work with kids because I have always wanted to be a parent, and I figured there was no better experience prior to becoming a mama than teaching & nurturing kiddos in a daycare setting. I then became a Lead 2s/3s Teacher— a position which solidified my LOVE of teaching and child development! My favorite part of this experience was working with the kids on their social and emotional skills— Read more I had many parents who specifically praised my ability to calmly connect with the kids & teach them coping methods. There is no better feeling to me than seeing one of my kids successfully self-regulate using a method I taught them! I earned my Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) specializing in Infant and Toddler Care. I chose this specialization because I am fascinated by the growth of a child between 0-3– there is SO much for the littlest ones to grow and learn, and I love taking part in those core experiences and education! I am a big believer in learning through experience and play, but I take a family-directed approach as I believe that routine and consistency are essential for positive development. In addition to childcare, I am open to housework as needed and absolutely love pets— I’m a kitty mom of 2!
