This was our first time using Sittercity and our first time using a sitter, period. We are very happy to have found Rachel! I was pleased that someone who came so well reviewed was available. And Rachel lives up to the high praise: she is punctual, professional, experienced and a warm, calming presence. During the interview, she held my 3-month-old son as he calmly gazed up at her, eventually falling asleep in her arms as we chatted. She also swaddled and put him to bed, so I was sold. On the night she sat for us, Rachel fed him, sang to him and put him to bed. Nothing too complicated—but we were able to enjoy ourselves without a worry all night, which is a big deal for new parents! We will definitely call on Rachel again!

Rachel just began watching our 19mo toddler. Our son was immediately comfortable with her and she was a natural with him! On her first day, she took him to a nearby playground and library. She made sure to send me pictures of him throughout the morning (he was grinning ear-to-ear in every picture) and reach out with any questions. Rachel is professional, easy to be around, and great with kids. We plan on using her services regularly. My husband and I only wish we had found her sooner!

Rachel was a life-saver, agreeing to take care of my 10 yr old at the last minute. She came very enthusiastic and my daughter had a great time with her. Rachel was mature but fun-loving. I would use her again in a heart beat!

I was visiting family from out of town, and was lucky enough to find Rachel to watch my 21-month-old son on the fourth of July so my family and I could go out and enjoy our evening. Rachel was wonderful from the get-go... she makes a wonderful first impression on the phone, conducting herself in a very professional manner. She showed up on time, was enthusiastic about being there, and managed to make the best of an extremely rainy late afternoon-early evening with a young and extremely active toddler in a hotel suite. She even sent me a few pictures of my little guy while I was gone, which of course I was thrilled to receive. Coming home at the end of the evening was wonderful; everything had been taken care of, my little man was sleeping peacefully, and she gave me a nice little recap of the evening. If we ever find ourselves back in D.C. again, I will absolutely be contacting her. Thank you Rachel for a wonderful experience!

Rachel came and looked after our 3.75-year-old boy while I was at a conference. She came to the hotel room two days in a row. The first day she played with Jack in the room. The second she took him to a museum and also got him to have a rest afterwards. Through all this she handled a number of challenges---him running a fever on the first day, baseball crowds for opening day at our opposite-Camden-Yards hotel---with good grace and humour. And Jack loved her. Billing and payment was also handled in a highly professional manner. I would not hesitate to hire her again.

Rachel is a wonderful find! In our telephone interview, she asked all the right questions in order to get to know more about my kids before she arrived. She was professional and punctual. My kids loved her, and I appreciated the fact that she texted me pictures of the fun my kids were having while my husband and I were having dinner (She did ask my permission to do so beforehand). I would not hesitate to have her watch the kids again, and I would recommend her to all my friends.

We used Rachel to babysit our three children on New Year's Eve and she was a dream. She was very organized and professional and had a great activities planned for our children. We came home to cupcakes (w/a tidy kitchen!), precious artwork and happy children! Thanks so much Rachel! We'll definitely be using her again and we recommend you do the same!

Rachel was great! She was very professional and immediately put me at ease. Unfortunately my son was not in the best mood that day and made her job tough, but she handled him wonderfully and they had fun together. I would absolutely recommend her and plan on using her in the future!

This was our first experience with hiring someone from Sittercity and we need to look no further. Rachel was an incredible babysitter. She has great communication and is always on time. My kids absolutely adored her. Prior to our first meeting she sent me a questionnaire full of questions to help her understand my kids. Based on that she showed up with puzzles for them to play with which I told her they loved. She kept the TV time to a minimum but even made that educational for them. Each time she leaves a little form that recaps what they did, what they ate, when they slept, etc. The morning after my kids immediately asked me when they get to see Rachel again.

Rachel was wonderful! She sent a thorough parent questionnaire prior to arriving, so she understood our children and the house rules. She arrived 5 minutes early. The children had nothing but positive things to say. We will definitely call again in the future!

Rachel was a great sitter. She e-mailed a thorough questionnaire ahead of time to ask things about what we expect during the babysitting, such as t.v. times, games the children like to play, etc. The kids said she was very nice, she brought puzzles and played with them.

We are fortunate to have found Rachel as she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely professional, she showed up on time to both the interview and the job, was attentive to our requests and most importantly the kids loved having her sit for them.

Rachel was great! My 16 month old son held up his hands for her to pick him up immediately, which he never does. She arrived early, was friendly, and sent me photos during my date night with my husband to reassure he was having fun. I would highly recommend Rachel to others. We plan to use her again.

Rachel babysat our three children, including an infant. She was on time and very professional. Because we were rushing out, I gave her several instructions quickly and handed her a bottle to feed the baby. She kept the older kids in bed (per our instructions) and held the infant longer than she needed to because she "just wanted to hold a baby". She commuted a long way just for an hour "job" which was greatly appreciated. We were very happy with her care and will have her watch our kids again.

Rachel watched our two daughters, 6 and 9, while we had a business dinner. Prior to the job (which I had posted short notice), she stayed in positive communication so I never worried about being stood up. She was prompt, courteous, responsbile, and interacted easily with the girls. She did the dishes, straightened the girls bedroom, and the reports from my daughters was fantastic! We don't have a television or computer, but that wasn't a problem, she actually cared about interacting with the girls - Rachel worked with my oldest on her homework and they walked to a local playground with our dog. Showers, hair, and teeth were all done, and the girls loved her! We'll definitely ask Rachel to work with us again -

I can't say how pleased I am with Rachel. Not only is she a professional, but she has a heart to do this type of work. My children lived spending time with her and I felt very comfortable leaving them in her charge.
