I have been a sitter all my teenage years, and it it wasn't until later on that my skills and experience in social work allowed me to work further. Currently I work with my Autistic adult nephew in Newton, and have done so for 3 years since coming back the US from working and living in Scotland. My background experience is 10+ years for Perth and Kinross Council, in Perth, Scotland as a Senior Social Care Officer in Social Work. There I worked with children from pre-birth to 16yrs on the child protection register, helped troubled teens in foster care, as well as helped to run a community project, called the No. 5 Project, which helped children and parents with schooling, cooking, developing skills for later on in life. I've worked also with Autistics and Asperger's young people. I came home in 2016 to care for my elderly parents until Read more they passed away in 2019. I dealt with doctors, legal appointments and outings for them, aiding them in having good experiences while in their older age. They were in their 80 when I came back. I have some first aid and CPR training, as well as risk assessment and child protection training.
