I am interested in full time, part time or occasional work ! I am a Retired Elementary Teacher, recently having relocated from PA with over 20yrs experience, 8 with gifted students. I have raised 2 of my own as well as done in home childcare throughout my adult life. I’ve spent the last 7 years caring first for a family of 2 boys then onto a family of 4 (3 boys 1 girl) ages 1-12. Both families were professional Christian homes that I remain close to. I believe structure and happy little humans make happy homes. I’ve lived most of my life in the Pittsburgh, PA area, although I’ve also lived in Alaska as well as SC where I taught gifted/ talented students math and language arts. I am passionate about helping to guide children through their youth in a structured happy environment which leads to a young person who Read more feels safe, has confidence, and is well educated ready to take on the challenges of the big world around them. I’m not intimidated by infants, sibling rivalries, or multiple child households. I believe in respect to all in turn respect will be received - just not optional. I am aware of the need to mirror parent requests as to appropriate guidelines while still maintaining ones own established guidelines for each day/ evening. My availability is usually fluid. Although I have left the classroom my passion to work with children remains within me, which is why this line of work seems the perfect fit for me. Be it talking, reading, playing, guiding, or just watching -my goal with children, regardless of age, is to establish a happy environment which has boundaries to bring security to their lives while letting them explore, learn, and grow. I am a cancer survivor who is a women of faith, however I am respectful of all beliefs and do not think it my place to instill my ideology on any children other than my own. I look forward to meeting and talking with you in person so that together we can establish a relationship of trust to make all the days in your families life a bit less stressful.
