Hello, my name is Jacquelyn. I'm a wife, mother of 5 now grown boys, grandmother of 2 amazing granddaughters and dog mom of an English bulldog and a Rottweiler. For 25 years I was a full time stay-at-home mom. I raised my boys to be respectful loving human beings that do good for the satisfaction of just being good people. I did all the usual things that go along with running a household; cleaning, cooking mostly healthy meals, teaching life skills, driving, doctor appointments, minor first aid, entertainment, endless hugs, love, and laughter, ect. I believe in giving children and people in general respect until they prove they are unworthy of it, so typically when my children misbehaved we would have a conversation about what is and is not acceptable and I would decide if repercussions were needed or not, usually meaning a time out or a toy taken away Read more or something fitting the issue. When all of my boys became full time students I started going to school myself. In between all my household duties and driving my kids to school and picking them up every day, I earned an AA degree in science with a emphasis on healthcare. I got a CNA license, and also got CPR-BLS certification for healthcare providers, and completed a first responder course. In the spirit of full disclosure, my CPR certification and CNA license do need to be renewed but I am going to get that done very soon. For the last 10 years I was a caregiver for a wheelchair bound patient. I actually did a lot of the same thing I did raising my kids. I assisted in daily household and personal tasks. first aid and vital signs monitoring as needed, hygiene care, transfers from wheelchair to bed, toilet, shower, vehicle, ect, medication administration, record keeping, housecleaning, food prep, shopping, entertaining, companionship, travel planning and assistance, appointment setting, driving to all appointments (with an impeccable driving record), assisted in paying bills and maintaining her household... all this in addition to still maintaining my own household. I managed some very stressful situations and showed much love and compassion as her physical and mental health declined due to dementia. As you can read, my life has been all about taking care of others. It's what I do best and what I enjoy doing. I'm sure I would be a great asset to your family and I look forward to getting the chance to prove it.
