I have been a full-time nanny for the last 18 years. I’ve known since I was a little girl that I wanted to take care of children. I come from a large family of 9 and I would help take care of my younger siblings. I started babysitting at the age of 12 for all the families in my neighborhood. I would bring over board games and popcorn and the children and I loved it! During my junior and senior year of high school, I attended an early childhood education vocational program at Auburn Career Center. The vocational center included a preschool for 3 and 4-year-olds. I learned how to write lesson plans and create activities for early childhood development. After graduating from high school, I worked in the infant room of a daycare center for 3 years. This was very fun. Taking care of 6 little babies can be Read more exhausting, but very rewarding. During my time at the daycare, I realized that I wanted to do more, learn more, and just be more. I decided to attend Kent State University with a major in Early Childhood Education. While attending college I came to a crossroads, and realized I didn't want to teach in the classroom but I still wanted to work with children. I decided to take some time off from school and commit to a year of community service. I joined a non-profit called Mission Year in Oakland, California. During my time there I volunteered in a homeless shelter, an elementary school, Children's Hospital, and led a Sunday school class. I learned a lot about myself, who I am as a person, and what I wanted to do for a living. It made me realize I loved helping people and I wanted to serve them for rest of my life. I decided to go to the English Nanny and Governess School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. I attended and graduated in December of 2006 and have been a full-time nanny ever since. I can say that I love my job and I love working with the parents and their kids. Everyday when I wake up, I'm excited for what's in store with the children. I like to giggle and can be silly with them but I don't take my job lightly. I enjoy watching the kids develop because every experience is exciting for them. My background and experience make me a great fit for the nanny role you are hoping to fill. I’ve only had a handful of positions in my last 18 years because I have remained with them for the long haul. I am able to take the lead and make sure that the household is running smoothly so that you can spend more time with your little ones. I look forward to hearing from you!
