I would like to caution anyone considering Amari as a babysitter. Initially, I was quite pleased with the information I found about her, and despite her delayed responses, the references from previous families were excellent. Consequently, I decided to book her for January 24, 2025, to care for my nearly two-year-old child. The day before the appointment, I reached out to Amari to confirm, and although her response took some time, she eventually confirmed her availability. On the morning of the appointment, Amari texted me approximately 45 minutes prior to her arrival, indicating that she was on her way. I was encouraged by her early notification, which suggested a sense of responsibility and reliability. However, an hour later, when she had not yet arrived, I reached out to check on her status. She responded 30 minutes later, explaining that she was stuck in traffic and that her GPS was rerouting her. She mentioned that she refrained from using her phone while driving, which I initially found commendable, but it did raise some doubts. She assured me she was six minutes away. Unfortunately, 20 minutes later, Amari still had not arrived, prompting me to dress my toddler and leave for my appointment, despite being significantly late. Just as we were heading out, Amari arrived, and I had to quickly brief her before departing. I returned home earlier than anticipated due to a cancellation of my appointment and felt it necessary to discuss the situation with Amari. She claimed that being late was uncharacteristic for her and attributed it to traffic. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and offered her a second chance to demonstrate her reliability. She expressed gratitude for this opportunity, and I scheduled her for the following week, January 28, 2025, with her confirming that she would be present without any issues. Once again, I reached out the day before the second appointment to confirm her arrival, but she did not respond. On the day of the appointment, she failed to show up and did not reply to my messages. I strongly advise caution before booking her as a sitter, as my experience with her has been quite troubling.
