Hi, my name is Kathy, I’ve been watching children since children since 1997. I started out as a Nanny and than from there opened my own childcare. I have one child who is 22 years old. I am very patient and very reliable. I enjoy teaching, playing and arts and crafts. Outside play and eating healthy is very important to me. I have great references and very organized. I look forward to hearing from you.

To start off, I have never left a negative review at any point in my life! We spent almost four weeks looking for a nanny for our 11 month old daughter, and ultimately hired Kathy after a phone call and an in person meeting/interview at our home. Both my husband and I run our own businesses and my studio is out of our home. We were really looking forward to Kathy starting and being a key member of our family "team." Kathy had her first day just yesterday and sent a text message this morning (45 minutes before she was scheduled to arrive so I could take my son to school) that she would be quitting and provided no reasoning other than she had "multiple reasons." She simply asked to be paid via Venmo for her time. To say I was surprised, would be an understatement. I was in the studio with my assistant for the bulk of the day and could not think of why she would be quitting so quickly and unexpectedly. I responded and asked what had happened and she had sent a lengthy message citing that we did not have a schedule for our daughter, our daughter required "constant attention" and she should be able to put herself down for a nap. 1. We had discussed her nap schedule two times, and there is a post-it on our refrigerator with the times 2. Our daughter is 11 months old and a baby - babies need attention 3. This was Kathy's first day and so it is not uncommon for a child to struggle to go down for a nap for a complete stranger. You need to build a relationship so there is trust and comfort - even with a baby. She essentially told me that I had to teach my daughter how to sleep, that our house/schedule was not regimented, and that she was overwhelmed with the task of caring for an 11 month old. The lack of communication, style of communication (sending a text to quit 45 minutes before she is scheduled), and not proving any notice is extremely unprofessional. This will have a profound impact on my business - and I cannot imagine what another parent would do if they worked for someone and had a job. I am writing this review so other parents are aware of my experience and they are not put in this very stressful situation which could easily have been avoided with open communication and patience.
