We hired Amy back in December 2019 to care for our first child as her nanny as part of a nannyshare. We interviewed scores of applicants, almost all of whom disappointed us until we spoke with Amy on the phone; she really understood what we were looking for and more importantly, really loved children, which came across very clearly just in the first phone interview. The other nannyshare family was also quite happy with the interview, but wouldn't join us until January due to the holiday season, which meant we had Amy full time to ourselves for a month. She bonded immediately with our (then 5 month old) daughter and engaged her throughout the day, whether it was through singing, activities, walks outside (weather permitting of course), toys, tummy time, etc. Our little girl was not a fan of tummy time when we would do it but Amy got her on track very quickly. We had a fairly complex schedule setup for our baby, but Amy had no problems accommodating it. When the other nannyshare family joined officially, she adapted beautifully to his different schedule and was very good with adapting to their very different personalities and needs. On days when I worked from home, I would peak in from time to time to see what was going on and my baby wouldn't even pay attention to me as she was more interested in Amy, which I took as a very good sign. Amy also started teaching the babies sign language, which has been very helpful since it's a quick way to communicate with the babies until they learn to talk. Just knowing "more" and "all done" has made meal times so much easier (and funnier when you try and give a kiss and they say "all done") Amy was very punctual, as I could set a clock by when she showed up in the morning, and from the time she showed up until the minute she left, she was always busy. She'll probably tell you in your interview that she likes to keep busy, and its not just lip service. Even when the babies were sleeping at the same time, when I would personally just rest, Amy kept busy. It was always wonderful to come home and not have to cleanup from the chaos created by two babies. One thing I would like to note is that in our house, where the nannyshare took place, I had cameras in almost every space except the bathrooms. We told Amy in the interview that we used cameras throughout and she was the only applicant who was actually enthusiastic about them, as she wanted us to feel safe leaving our most precious cargo in her care. I can't think of enough nice things to say about Amy, as she truly was wonderful. If not for the COVID-19 pandemic, we would have happily kept her. She truly is a great find for your little one(s).
