Hi, My name is Ashley and I’m a 22 year old part-time esthetician and have been a part-time nanny/babysitter for the past 8 years. My professional childcare journey began in June of 2019, at the McGaw YMCA Children’s Center. I worked there until the following year, when the pandemic began. During my time there, I worked as a camp counselor, teacher’s assistant, and as an after-school program class lead with ages ranging from 6 months to 11 years old. Some of my specific responsibilities included: -collaborating with 2 other caregivers to create a fun and nurturing space. -changing 25+ diapers a day, assisting potty training - administered meals while being cautious of the children's dietary restrictions -Brainstorming and organizing age appropriate activities -Engaging and effectively interacting with the children while working to achieve each and everyone's specific milestones. I wanted to continue working with kids in a more “covid friendly” Read more setting once the pandemic hit, and transitioned to nannying in June of 2020 for a family I met at the YMCA. (Ages 2.5 & 5) For approximately 14 months, I cooked, cleaned, played with, and attended activities with them for approximately 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. My favorite thing about nannying was to be able to adapt to the children's preferences, in the comfort of their own home by incorporating fun and educational activities into their everyday schedule. When virtual learning began, I tutored the oldest and assisted her with assignments with subjects like reading, math, and science. When they both returned to school full time in September of 2021, I began nannying for a sweet 14 month old boy, for only a short period of time because his mom was going to have a baby later that year. It was an amazing transition to be able to witness and care for a younger baby one on one, and being able to apply my toddler knowledge from having previous first hand experience in a professional setting. I am CPR certified (Oct. 2021-2023), Covid Vaccinated (Boosted) & have my own form of transportation. I am also bilingual (Spanish/English).
