Hi! My name is Colleen. I'm 29 years old and Masters educated. After six years of working in the corporate world as a Data Engineer, I am excited to transition back to my true passion of working with children. I have babysat and nannied since I was 11 years old, working with children from newborn to eighteen. I have a strong network of families I worked with for years in Ann Arbor to provide references! While in undergrad at MSU, I was an afterschool assistant at a local Catholic school for two years. Since leaving my corporate career last summer, I worked as a full-time substitute teacher for Detroit Waldorf School for two months and most currently as a STEM Programmer at a local library. My favorite hour of the week is running a STEAM Club for youth, where we build and craft everything from marshmallow towers to catapults to Read more Lego creations! Despite these two fulfilling endeavors working with youth, I am choosing to pursue nannying again as the ability to work 25-30 hours per week and at a higher hourly wage is more sustainable for me. I am CPR Certified and First Aid trained. I am very active, loving to hike, run, swim, and spend as much time outside as possible. I enjoy reading and knitting (and teaching children how to finger knit!) and do not use social media. I am strong advocate of putting screens away when with children and would practice that with yours. I own a 2022 VW Taos and have a clean driving record. I would be available starting in May or June. I am open to a position that is just for the summer or longer-term. I would ideally work 25-30 hours a week, but I am flexible on this for the right fit!
