Hi, I’m Erin and a local nanny based in Austin! I’m currently a nursing student with a passion for working with kids and a dream of becoming a pediatric nurse. In the last decade, I’ve worked multiple jobs as a nanny, babysitter, house manager/pet sitter, children’s swim instructor, daycare worker, and assistant elementary teacher. I have experience caring for multiple kids and age ranges from one infant to a classroom of rowdy middle school boys. As much as I love working with kids, I also have a soft spot for pets! Since 2022, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and chickens. In addition to nannying and pet sitting, I was a swim instructor/coach for private students and for the YMCA. Also, I’ve volunteered as a teaching assistant for a children's summer program abroad, an after-school elementary STEM program, and coach for an elementary robotics team. I really enjoy teaching and playing Read more with kids whether it be traditionally in a classroom, outside on the playground, or in the pool. Outside of childcare, I’ve worked several jobs in management, hospitality, and retail. For a few years my passion for organization, management, efficiency, smooth routines, and cleanliness led me to pursuing positions as a restaurant general manager, Starbucks manager, and hospitality specialist. It’s been great building work ethic and skills for taking initiative, anticipating needs, and creating innovations. Although house management isn’t as demanding as running a Starbucks, it’s been satisfying to restock changing stations and put the final touches to a cleaned kitchen. A little about me: I enjoy being outdoors, especially hiking, climbing, biking, and camping. I’ve worked as a rock climbing orientation instructor and a bike mechanic with opportunities to teach kids how to climb or how to safely mountain bike. Those jobs were so much fun and it was joyful to watch the kids gain confidence and enjoyment from trying something new. Through my diverse work experience with children, I’ve cultivated a patient, compassionate, and engaging attitude towards caring for a family and home. Note: I currently drive a 2018 Honda Odyssey (minivan) with more than enough room for the kids, toys, snacks, and anything else they would need.
