Hello, my name is Kayla. Being a nanny warms my heart! I’ve been called the baby whisperer more times than I could count. I really enjoy teaching little humans about the world. I love crafting and painting, singing, reading, and spreading kindness. I have been a nanny for 17 years, I started with 5 kids as a live in nanny. Most of my experience has been caring for families with 1-3 children. My experience is mostly with infants until they go to daycare or preschool. I’ve cared for twins, triplets, medically complex children, and helped with pets. I’ve also done nanny share. I have great relationships with my previous families and still regularly book for occasional care. I update my CPR and First aid certifications every other year. I have a vehicle with third row seating with great space for car seats. I also have worked for doctors, nurses, lawyers, Read more business owners, so I understand a standard for privacy. I see children as humans and have the time and patience to slow down to explain how things work and why. I give them opportunities for input on their life. I let babies choose their onesies, toddlers can help decide what to make for meals, and it strengthens their bodily autonomy. Kids will be adults someday and I want them to be happy, kind, and fulfilled. I treat kids with respect. I have conversations with them instead of just talking at them. I also make the kids the priority. Cleaning up is secondary and what I use nap time for. I am accustomed to minimal screen time. I am used to only having my phone out to take pictures and send them to the parents, looking up crafts on Pinterest, or turning on music. Overall it’s just in my nature to care for children.
