Hello fellow parents! Kids call me Miss Charlie 😊 I work with all ages, and I have some experience with special needs. I love pets and don’t mind multiple big dogs, am certified in CPR/1st aid for children and in Montessori education as well as The Outdoor Classroom etc. I am willing to do meal prep and light house keeping as long as it’s related to the children’s environments and items. I work with families that are away or stay at home, and that come from a variety of cultures, lifestyles and religions. I work both days and nights, as well as occasional overnights. I also provide pet care along with childcare for no extra charge, and pet sitting on its own for reasonable rates . My base rate is 26 p/h. So, depending on factors like number of children, age, responsibilities, frequency of work days/hours etc., the rate could Read more be hirer, but I do offer a sliding scale option to make my services financially accessible to families that I enjoy working for. I was educated in Child Development and Educating young children at Austin Community College. However, my experience is far more valuable in my opinion. My Childcare history of experience … I started caring for children at 8 years old when my brother was born. I was in charge of feeding, diapering and general supervision as well as nurturing. At 9 years old, I began babysitting regularly for my neighbors pre-school age boys. The summer of my 15th year, I was a nanny for a neighbor with two toddlers and a new born. I cared for them for 40 hours a week unsupervised without incident. In my early 20’s, I was a nanny for a good friend and her baby daughter for a few years. I have worked at multiple facilities such as Habibi’s Hutch, Stepping Stone, The Nest and a couple of other Montessori based schools. It took so many attempts to discover that there just is no substitute for individualized care for families and their children. Facilities simply can not provide the best care, but can provide social enrichment regardless, so they have their place for Children 4 and up, but younger children need more attention and caregiver engagement. That’s what I do in addition to providing a safe, clean and healthy environment for play based learning and development of social emotional skills. Physical development is also important so I strive to do age appropriate activities such as outdoor play, simple yoga and freestyle dance when appropriate and kids are interested.

Charlie is absolutely wonderful - my girls always have a tantrum when we leave but not this time! They were instantly comfortable with her. She communicated with us as needed, and was just amazing with our girls! She has become our go-to sitter and the girls get SO excited when they know their pal Charlie is coming to play.
