I have worked with children of all ages since I have been 17 years old. I began my experience with children when I worked at an after school program at Saint Francis Xavier School in Weymouth. I assisted with watching children in an after school care setting. The ages varied from 4 years old to 14 years old. From the age of 19-24 I worked in a day care that accommodates infants to 14 years old. These responsibilities included: assisting the main teacher in the classroom with snacks, circle time, and play time. I helped students with common needs such as bathroom needs (diapers for infants, pull-ups for toddlers) basic first aide, and watching children outside while they play. In addition to working at the day care, I have worked at a summer camp run through Saint Francis Xavier School for four summers. These responsibilites include: co planning summer currciulum Read more and crafts for students, providing a safe, fun learning environment for all children, making sure children are watched over at all times, and providing children with any additional care needed (bathroom needs, basic first aide, comforting when upset). I have also worked in a before care program for Saint Francis Xavier School in Weymouth for three years. (2014-2017). Responsibilities include: checking students in when they are dropped off in the morning, providing students with breakfast if they need food when they are dropped off, making sure that students are playing a safe environment, assisting students with any homework. Currently, I am a high school English teacher in the south shore, but I live in Boston. I’m working on a masters in Special Education. I have a BA in English from Stonehill College and I have a minor in Secondary Education and Dance and am a certified MA teacher.
