Hi there! I'm Cody. Nice to meet you :) I've been working with kids ever since I was a kid myself, helping my mom with my three younger brothers. I quickly became known as the neighborhood babysitter, and have loved working with kids since then in a variety of settings - from summer camp to nannying and teaching preschool. I have a degree in child psychology, training in CPR and first aid, and do my best to stay on top of new techniques, approaches, and concerns for modern-day parents. That said, my lived experience caring for children is what makes me most effective in my role. In particular, I have experience working with kids who are neurodivergent (especially those with autism or ADHD) and those who are queer (or questioning their identities); as someone who fits into both of those categories in multiple ways, I am able to empathize with Read more the unique joys and challenges your kids may be facing in their day-to-day lives. I'm here for both you and your child -- whether it's helping out around the house or with homework, transportation to extracurriculars, sports, and play dates, helping to work through communication breakdowns or difficulties at school, or enforcing boundaries while teaching independence and age-appropriate decision making and critical thinking skills. While I'm largely here to help parents cover the logistical aspects of childcare in a busy world, I want to be an asset to your family in as many ways as possible; your kids are experiencing many situations and emotions for the very first time, and I am ready to help them (and you, parents!) to navigate these developmental milestones, and to have some fun along the way. I am fully vaccinated, including against COVID-19. My availability is open-ended. I'd love to discuss your family's unique needs, and the ways in which I might be able to help. If you and your child agree that I'm the right fit, we can go from there. Let's get started!
