Hi! My name is Melvina Brown, and I am a current Pre-K teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology. I have over 8 years of experience working with children and come from a big family, which has given me a natural love for nurturing and teaching kids of all ages. As a teacher, I create fun and engaging activities that help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I’m also CPR and First Aid certified, so safety is always my top priority. Melvina is an incredible babysitter! When the snowstorm hit in January, our daycare closed down and my husband and I were working from home with our very active 2 year old. Melvina replied to our ad right away and was courteous and timely in all of our message exchanges. She was AMAZING with our son! She used just the right balance of playfulness and staying active along with caring firmness and staying on the schedule we had provided. She kept him occupied all day long with coloring, reading books, playing with toys, feeding him lunch, putting him down for a nap, and no screen time (as we had requested!). Throughout the day, she was a model of professionalism, and it’s clear how passionate she is about caring for young children. Our son was a huge fan of hers and we’ll definitely be putting Melvina on speed-dial as one of our go to babysitters in town!
