I am a wife and mother. I have a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters in clinical mental health counseling. In both degrees, I chose elective courses related to child development. While I am NOT currently CPR or First Aid certified, my previous job experiences includes lifeguarding, and as such, this provided me with the training to be able to handle stressful experiences calmly. Although my babysitting jobs have not been linear, I have had a variety of experiences through working nursery shifts at my home church, helping families with multiple children, growing up taking care of considerably younger siblings, counseling young people, and most recently nannying. The thing I love most about babysitting is that it allows me to bring my child along to work with me. In addition, I have always had a passion for young people, and I love being able to watch them grow and Read more learn. It is my firm belief that children have so much to offer, much more than we generally give them credit for. As Master Yoda says in Attack of the Clones, "Truly wonderful the mind of a child is," and I agree. As a babysitter, I get to experience that wonder firsthand. Some of my interests include reading, writing, music, gardening, playing with my son and my cats, cooking, baking, Star Wars, walking, hiking, birding, homeschooling, painting, and listening to audiobooks.
